Weekly Tarot Reading: December 27, 2014 to January 2, 2015

The Tarot reading for December 27th, 2014 through January 2, 2015 encourages patience and understanding. It also promises that if you work hard and make a few touch decisions, you'll be well rewarded. But be prepared to wait.

Card 1: Temperance—You'll want to act with precision this week, so patience will be key. Anxiety will not serve you now, but acting in harmony with the situation will. Learn to wait for the perfect moment.

Card 2: Six of Cups—This week you'll find yourself surrounded by innocent joy. Expect to be reminded of days gone by, but only in the best of ways. You may also require the aid of a joyous person from your past to accomplish your goals.

Card 3: Eight of Pentacles—You'll need to abandon perfection this week and focus on the practical. The two can coexist, but not right now. A lack of finesse isn't always a bad thing. Beware a finicky person who might cause a problem or two.

Card 4: Eight of Cups—Success is certainly possible this week, but not without significant sacrifice. You will have to turn your back on something and never look back if you want to achieve your objective. Look at the situation carefully before deciding if the sacrifice is worth it.

Card 5: Queen of Swords—Past ideas regarding independence are still clinging to the present situation. These ideas may still be useful, but only if they are used without regard to emotion. On another note, the influence of someone strong and independent may finally be fading.

Card 6: Knight of Wands—Ambitions are good, especially if they become your reality. Visualize what you want to accomplish and you are one step closer to getting what you want. Ignore the naysayers.

Card 7: Queen of Wands—A situation or cause may inspire you to act sooner than you had anticipated. Don't be afraid to enlist the aid of someone who knows how to get things done. This action may inspire others around you.

Card 8: Wheel of Fortune—It is important that you appear as if you are aware of and planning for the inevitable change that's heading your way. Show those around you that you take responsibility for your own life. Be willing to take a chance and it will surely pay off.

Card 9: King of Swords—Others may see you as powerful due to your knowledge of the rules and laws that govern the situation. Some may think your head is in the clouds, but others will recognize the value of brainstorming.

Card 10: You might hope you can approach the situation with spontaneity and enthusiasm, but you also fear that you might be a little too impulsive for the situation. Don't be afraid to let go, but keep your eyes on the prize.

Card 11: The outcome will be full of nothing but a sense of satisfaction and completion. Hard work and careful planning will eventually pay off. But don't get too comfortable. An important date is on the horizon.

Tarot Decks: 22 Arcani i Cani del Mondo

The Tarot deck referred to as 22 Arcani i Cani del Mondo (translated as 'dogs of the world') features a different dog breed from around the world on each of the twenty-two cards. Produced by Menegazzi Osvaldo of Il Meneghello, this deck was created and released in 1990, when only two thousand decks were produced. Each deck is numbered, and no more than the original two thousand were ever created.

22 Arcani i Cani del Mondo features the twenty-two cards of the Major Arcana. All are printed in black and white on cream colored stock. At 3.5 inches wide and 5 inches high, this deck is one of the larger Tarot decks out there, but it is still comfortable to use. It's not typically enlisted during readings, however, because it is not a fully deck. Though some combine the twenty-two cards with the Minor Arcana of another deck, most choose to use this deck for display purposes only. It is mostly of interest to Tarot collectors and enthusiasts, not your average Tarot reader.

Tarot Decks: 22 Arcani I Gatti Buffi

The Tarot deck referred to as 22 Arcani I Gatti Buffi (translated as 'the funny cats') is the second of two cat-themed decks produced by Menegazzi Osvaldo of Il Meneghello. I Gatti Buffi is the larger of the two, measuring five inches high, and is printed on whiter card stock than its smaller cousin. Released in 1990, only 2000 copies of this rare deck were produced. All are numbered and signed.

While the cats on the smaller deck are more regal and sophisticated, the cats decorating I Gatti Buffy are funnier, giving the deck a lighter feel. These cats come across as playful, even mischievous, bringing a sense of fun to the Tarot.

Despite its cute appearance, this Tarot deck is not typically used for Tarot readings because it contains only the twenty-two cards of the Major Arcana. Its really more designed for Tarot collectors or anyone who loves cats, but it can be used for readings if combined with the Minor Arcana from another deck.

Tarot Decks: 22 Arcani I Gatti

The tarot deck referred to as 22 Arcani I Gatti (translated as 'the cats') is one of two feline-themed decks produced Menegazzi Osvaldo of Il Meneghello. I Gatti is the smaller of the two, measuring only three inches high. Printed on cream-colored card stock, this deck is considered a limited edition deck because only 2000, all numbered, were released. Black and white, this deck features cats which appear more majestic and sophisticated then the cats which appear on the large deck, usually referred to as 22 Arcani I Gatti Buffi (typically translated as 'funny cats').

Since this deck only contains the 22 cards of the Major Arcana, it's not generally used for Tarot readings. Instead, its target audience is collectors and enthusiasts who admire the beauty of cats and Tarot, especially when mixed together. Of course, you certainly can use them for readings, especially if you add the Minor Arcana from another deck, but since they are limited edition, most people who have this deck do not actually use it for Tarot readings.
