The Three of Wands of the Minor Arcana of the Tarot is the third card of the Suit of Wands. It comes after the Two of Wands. It is the embodiment of enterprise, trade, or commerce.
The Symbolism of the Three of Wands Tarot Card
This card is represented by a man, probably either a nobleman or a very wealthy merchant, calmly gazing out towards the sea as he stands upon the beach. There are three upright wands, each seeming to grow from the earth itself. The man holds onto one of these wands for support.
The General Interpretation of the Three of Wands Card
When appearing in a spread, this card implies creation, and the looking forward to something. This may be the start of a journey or mission. Regardless, it is certainly an optimistic card. This card can be said to represent achievement, and so this is a good card to see in a spread when pursuing a venture, especially in business.
The Three of Wands typically relates to business of some kind. This might be in the form of beginning a new business, or success in the trade and commerce field. It could also indicate that an even bigger accomplishment is on the horizon.
The Inner Meaning of the Three of Wands in Tarot
The Three of Wands is the image of success, especially as it relates to traveling or business. The number three represents creation itself, and so this card implies the beginning of something grand and important. The man, as he stands looking out to sea, suggests that there is something to look forward to, and that optimism is not misplaced. The calm seas indicate that all will be well. It shall be smooth sailing, so to speak.
A mission of some sort is likely with this card. What form this mission takes will vary. However, it is highly likely that it will have something to do with business or enterprise; perhaps a business trip that will prove to be highly successful. It may also indicate that a business venture that has been put off should be attempted now, for now is the time when it might succeed. For many people, this card precipitates the start of a new business, large or small.

Tarot Card Symbolism: The Three of Wands of the Minor Arcana
Tarot Card Symbolism: The Two of Wands Reversed
If you choose to read those Tarot cards that appear reversed (upside down) in a Tarot reading as having different meanings than upright cards, then the Two of Wands in its reversed position usually indicates delays. Delays in business or property matters could come up. Travel is best left for another time, as your travel plans might fall through at the last minute. Partnership deals are problematic right now and a proud or vain person may be the cause of the problems.
Tarot Card Symbolism: The Two of Wands of the Minor Arcana
The Two of Wands of the Minor Arcana of the Tarot is the second card of the Suit of Wands. It follows the Ace of Wands. It is the embodiment of courage and daring, and a willingness to face the unknown.
The Symbolism of the Two of Wands Tarot Card
This card is represented by a man, probably either a nobleman or a very wealthy merchant, gazing out over his territory. There is a lake or ocean in the distance, so perhaps he is looking for his ships, returning from a voyage. Upon the wall where he stands rest two wands, and in his hand he holds a globe of the world.
The General Interpretation of the Two of Wands Card
When appearing in a spread, this card implies the need to apply the lessons of courage and daring, to channel them into something useful. This is generally taken to mean the beginning of a journey, or perhaps striking out on a new path in life.
This card also symbolizes the untapped power that each individual has. The globe in the palm of the merchant’s hand is this power. This card is a suggestion to use it, not simply hoard it. The power is right there, clasped in the palm of the hand. Now is the time to find the courage to put it to good use.
The Inner Meaning of the Two of Wands in Tarot
The Two of Wands is the image of courage and daring, and of taking chances. This card conveys a message that one should strike out on a journey, forge a new path, even if the destination cannot be clearly seen. The destination will never be found until one has the courage and conviction to seek it out, pursing it relentlessly.
The symbols on this card all point to a common theme. They imply that now is the time to act, that the time of patience is at an end. This is the time to be bold and creative. If the individual is hovering on the brink of a decision, the Two of Wands suggests that now is the time to make a move, to make a firm decision.

Tarot Card Symbolism: The Ace of Wands Reversed
If you choose to read different meanings into those Tarot cards that appear reversed (upside down) in a Tarot reading, then the Ace of Wands in its reversed position could mean that the news you are waiting for will be delayed or might not be as good as you had hoped. A new beginning brings problems. Perhaps the idea is right, but the timing is probably wrong.
